Design Process/Pricing

All murals are priced by the project, not by the hour.  There is a minimum charge of $500 for a project which is roughly equal to one day's work. Many factors impact the final price of a mural project including: size, level of detail, number of hours I think it will take to complete the mural, surface preparation, environmental conditions, and if scaffolding is required.

  • Phase I - Initial Contact

During our initial phone conversation we will discuss your ideas, type of project and time frame. I will also direct you to my website so that you can familiarize yourself with my style of art and perhaps get some ideas!

  • Phase II - Initial Meeting

During this on site meeting we will discuss your ideas in depth after which I will make recommendations about options, and perhaps make some sketches. I will bring my portfolio for your review and show you some reference pictures that I feel might be relevant. I will also take some measurements and digital photos of the area. There is no charge for this meeting.

  • Phase III - Design and Quote

I will sketch out some ideas and include them in a formal quote for the project. Usually I meet with you at this time to discuss the project and quote. I also suggest an in-studio visit to illustrate some of my work.

Here is an example of a recent sketch:

  • Phase IV- Painting!

Once you are happy with the design, we will arrange a mutually agreeable date to begin work. To place your project on the schedule, I require a 50% deposit, with the remaining amount due upon completion. However, if this is an extended project (3 weeks or longer) I will also require an interim payment.

Then I begin painting and you will sit back and enjoy watching your creation take shape in phases. If this is a canvas painting being completed in my studio and you have Internet access, you will be able to watch the progress via pictures sent via email to you or by viewing my website! You can even have your co-workers, family, and others see it -if you choose.
